To start, though, we shall continue where we left off last week, with Paris Nice which once again was a particularly aggressive and close fought event. The race was a delight for the French, with no less than four stage victories of of a possible eight for the home riders. Following Arnaud Demare’s stage one win, Jonathan Hivert took stage three, on a day that saw 2007 winner Luis Leon Sanchez go into yellow. Jerome Cousin won, slightly controversially on stage five - he’d refused to work with Niels Pollit on the run-in, then outsprinted him at the finish, sneaky, whilst Rudy Molard put his local knowledge to good use on stage six.

The stage five time trial had been dominated by Wout Poels. However, a crash the following day, in which he sustained a broken collar bone, spelt the end of his race. In fact it was a case of Double Dutch in terms of bad luck, with Tom Dumoulin crashing out of Tirreno Adriatico on the very same day.

Saturday’s mountain top finish was a little too much for race leader Sanchez, who cracked inside the final 10km’s. lUp front, a well timed and very strong attack from Simon Yates gave him the stage win and the yellow jersey, leading into the final day.

The so called Race to the Sun didn’t exactly live up to it’s name on the final stage, which were held under near biblical conditions. This is what it looked like before the stage. (Jeremy Whittle video). Andre Greipel was first to the start line, although without another Gorilla in sight he couldn’t board Noah’s Ark and so settled on impersonating a swimmer. Whilst Luis Leon Sanchez was hoping to take flight like Mary Poppins with his umbrella.

Illegal Super Bike | So Fast It Was Banned!

Have we finally found the first carbon fibre monocoque UCI-banned superbike which can topple the time of a modern road bike? The Hotta has Tour de France Prologue Victories and Olympic Medals to its name and we've got not just one, but two of these very special machines to pit against a brand-new Canyon Aeroad. But there's a twist, one of the Hotta's is kitted out in full retro-guise, but the other, is a modern take, assembled with cutting-edge components to blend the two worlds into one. Could this create the ultimate mix of modern efficiency with old-school aerodynamic madness? There's only one way to find out!
