First, Ian Stannard outwitted and out-powered the entire Etixx-Quick-Step classics squad to win his second Het Nieuwsblad in a row. Mark Cavendish made amends for the Belgian squad with a brilliant ride at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne the following day.
