Braking one of the most important skills for cyclists. Brakes aren't just for safety - good braking technique can also help you to ride faster.

In this video we go through our top tips for great braking. Save going uphill, braking is an important part of pretty much every aspect of cycling.

There are three key areas to work on. Technique - should you use your front brake? Back brake? Or both?. Maintaining your brakes and bikes will give you better modulation and more effective braking. You also need to consider where you're going to brake - as far as possible, try to avoid braking in a corner.
