The 70th Edition of the Criterium du Dauphine got underway on Sunday with plenty of action provided by Team Sky, including a dramatic crash by Geraint Thomas. We’ll be showing highlights from every stage on our Facebook page where we’ll have all the action and discussing the main talking points so make sure you head there after every stage.
The Hammer Series moved from Norway to the Netherlands last weekend for the Hammer Limburg. The same three day format - the Hammer Climb on day one, followed by the Hammer Sprint, with the Hammer Chase on the final day.
Bahrain Merida won the Hammer Climb with some fantastic racing in the rain, whilst the Hammer Sprint was once again dominated by Mitchelton Scott, who managed to maintain their overall lead in the Hammer Series with a second place in the Hammer Chase which was won by a rampaging Quickstep team.
The star studded Lotto Thuringen Ladies Tour provided plenty of action last week in Germany, with multiple wins for Coryn Rivera, who then tenaciously held onto her leaders jersey until it was wrestled off of her on the hilly stage 5 by Lisa Brennauer. Heading into the final stage, an 18 kilometre individual time trial around Schmolin, only seven seconds separated race leader Brennauer from Ellen Van Dijk.
The epic Dirty Kanza became even more of a challenge when participants had to overcome a torrential rainstorm that delayed the start as well as a stacked field, including Cyclocross stars Sven Nys and Katie Keough.
