Checking tyre pressure, tread and sidewalls will help to improve the quality of your ride and reduce the chance of punctures. Functioning brakes are obviously a fundamental part of a working bike, so don't overlook the pads and cables! Finally, the drivetrain, no one likes a squeaky or dirty chain so make sure to lubricate properly and wipe off with a rag if necessary.
