A couple of sharp climbs right at the end of this 195km stage were likely to keep the sprinters at bay. Gatis Smukulis of Katusha, Enrico Barbin of Bardiani-CSF and the TopSport-Vlaanderen duo of Jef Van Meirhaeghe and Preben Van Hecke formed the early break, and they weren’t caught until late in the stage on the climbs of Al Hamriyah and Al Jissah. A small selection was made and just 19 riders contested the final bunch sprint. Who won? Find out here!
