Remco Evenepoel will be using the new S-Works SL8 tarmac for his defence of his Vuelta title
This year's Vuelta will see one of the deepest GC fields in the history of the race, with Evenepoel lining up against the likes of, Primoz Roglic, Jonas Vingegaard, Geraint Thomas and Juan Ayuso.
In his attempt to defend his Vuelta title, Evenepoel will be using the newly released Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8, a platform based around a frame weighing a claimed 685 grams. Specialized are reporting this to be the lightest frame in the WorldTour.
The colour scheme of Evenepoel’s new bike is inspired by his ability to ‘morph - like liquid metal - into a single aerodynamic blur of man and machine’ and this celebrates his achievements at the World Championships and his victory at his home national championships.

What is most impressive about this bike is that with all the relevant kit on it that you would expect – pedals, power meter, computer mount, and bottle cages – it still comes in at 6.8kg, right at the limit of the UCI’s lower weight rules.
