Only 300 pairs of the Tom Pidcock Signature Series Velans are available to purchase
British sunglasses brand SunGod has announced a new pair of their Velans that have been designed in collaboration with Tom Pidcock and will be worn by the Ineos Grenadiers rider at the coming Tour de France.
Limited to only 300 pairs, the Tom Pidcock Signature Series Velans are available to purchase for £150 from the SunGod website.
The new sunglasses come just weeks after the release - and immediate sell-out - of the Geraint Thomas Signature Series, but unlike the Welshman’s white offering, Pidcock’s range do not present a newly-designed frame. Instead, the latest release features a fresh crystal red colourway of the Velans range, which have previously been available in a variety of colours.
SunGod came onboard as Ineos Grenadiers’ sunglasses sponsor at the beginning of the season, marking the end of Oakley’s 12-year partnership with the British team.
Thomas had become synonymous with wearing a traditional pair of white Oakley Racing Jackets and when tasked with designing his Signature Series Velans, the Welshman and SunGod settled on an all-white frame in the ilk of his faithful eyewear.

SunGod will have been delighted to see Geraint Thomas performing so well in the Giro d’Italia whilst hitting the headlines for his new glasses
According to SunGod, Pidcock’s new bespoke range have been “built with an entirely new crystal red frame colourway” and the frames house “an 8KO Silver Blue Lens featuring an engraving to illustrate [Pidcock’s] ‘make your move’ mantra.” The playing cards insignia can be seen in the bottom corner of the lens and also on the interior of the frames.
Eagle-eyed mountain bike fans may have already spotted the glasses in action, with the British rider wearing his limited edition lenses to victory at the recent cross-country World Cup in Nové Město.

Tom Pidcock will transition from his mountain bike to the road bike at the Tour de France
Pidcock will be part of a strong eight-man Ineos Grenadiers team at the Tour de France, which has no obvious leader and should present the 23-year-old with plenty of opportunities to go in search of a stage victory.
Known as one of the most exciting young prospects in cycling, Pidcock won the Queen stage atop Alpe d’Huez at last year’s Tour de France, becoming the youngest rider to ever win a stage on the sport’s iconic climb. The multi-discipline world champion looks set to target GC at a Grand Tour in the future, though he has hinted at modest overall hopes already this year.
