The new Pro-Wing AGX handlebars from FSA
FSA has released a new handlebar aimed exclusively at adventure riding and bikepacking in the shape of the new Pro-Wing AGX. The bar features integrated front extensions to give riders an additional riding position aimed at improving comfort for long days in the saddle.
The Pro-Wing AGX has been designed in collaboration with "genuine bikepacking enthusiasts" to create a bar for unpaved roads and rugged trails.
Along with the integrated extensions, the bars also feature a 25-degree flare at the drops to give riders a more stable riding position whilst riding on the drops. The flare adds 50mm to the bar's width meaning that on the widest option available which measures 46cm centre to centre, at the drops the bars are 51cm wide.

Upon the bar's release, FSA recommended that the bars be matched to the VAS (Vibration Absorbing System) stem. This uses an elastomer inside the clamping surface of the bar to dampen out the high-frequency chatter of riding on gravel.
The VAS stem is claimed to reduce shocks to the rider's hands and wrists by as much as 47%. The stem also comes with three different strength elastomer inserts to tailor the feel to your preference between race (33% vibrations absorbed), sport (40% vibrations absorbed), and comfort (47% vibrations absorbed). The VAS stem is available in 80/90/100mm lengths and works with a 31.8mm clamping diameter.

The Pro-Wing AGX has been designed to offer plenty of space to mount bags to the front of the bike, something that is an important part of any bikepacker's set-up. Part of the reasoning behind the aggressive flare to the drops is to give ample space for a bar bag to sit without interfering with access to the drops.

To further increase the ease of mounting bags to the bar, FSA partnered with Italian brand Givi. This partnership throughout the design process of the bar ensured that the Pro-Wing AGX would work well with the Givi Climb a 9-14 litre bikepacking bar bag.
