UCI ProTeam
This long-running Italian ProConti outfit has been run by the same director that they first started out with back in 1982, Bruno Reverberi, an elder statesman of the sport who has overseen many iterations of his team over the years.
In recent years, it’s Reverberi’s son who has taken over more of the day-to-day running of the team. One recurring theme of the team’s history has been doping positives, the most recent being that of Stefano Pirazzi’s and Nicola Ruffoni’s positive tests on the eve of the 2017 Giro d’Italia, and another for Michael Bresciani later that year.
2020 appeared to be the year that the team finally tried to put a stop to this issue, letting a lot of their older riders go and recruiting a large crop of young and prosperous Italian talent to replace them. Last season saw the team secure 13 wins, largely thanks to the form of African continental champion Henok Mulubrhan, who won both the Tour du Rwanda and Tour of Qinghai Lake, collecting two and one stages along the way respectively.
However, the Eritrean, alongside all but one of the team's foreign riders, have departed for pastures new in 2024. It means the team is made up almost entirely of Italians, including the likes of Filippo Fiorelli and Davide Gabburo.
