UCI Women's WorldTeam
Founded in 2019, Trek-Segafredo is one of the newest squads in the pro peloton, but that hasn’t stopped them from quickly becoming one of the most important and most successful. In their debut year they racked up an impressive 17 wins, and have continued a high win rate, including big races like the first two editions of Paris-Roubaix, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Women’s Tour.
The team have a reliable core of riders than includes Lizzie Deignan, Elisa Longo Borghini and Ellen van Dijk, but have also built up their contingent of younger riders, which now includes cyclo-cross start Shirin van Anrooij, Elynor Bäckstedt and Gaia Realini.
The end of 2022 saw the departure of five riders, including Audrey Cordon-Ragot and Chloe Hoskings, but the arrival of Amanda Spratt, Brodie Chapman and key lead-out rider for Elisa Balsamo, Ilaria Sanguinetti. Trek-Segafredo may not have the same super team reputation as SD Worx, but their line-up is certainly similarly strong, and they have shown themselves to be a force to be reckoned with in the Classics. With the additions of Spratt and Realini, they are also building their options in stage racing.
