Jai Hindley is a former Giro d’Italia winner and a professional cyclist on the Bora-Hansgrohe team. Hailing from Australia, Hindley turned professional with Team Sunweb at the start of 2018 having enjoyed a promising U23 career that included a number of wins and a podium finish in the U23 Giro.

The first two seasons of Hindley’s career saw the climber develop into a consistent stage racer and in 2020 he finished second overall to Tao Geoghegan Hart at the Giro d’Italia. Hindley’s form saw a dip in 2021 and he was unable to replicate his Giro result from the previous year but he came back strongly the following season to win the general classification. Hindley won a stage during the first week of the race and then leapfrogged race leader Richard Carapaz on the final mountain stage of the race. In the final time trial Hindley held on to become the first Australian to win the Giro d’Italia. Later that season, he finished 10th overall in the Vuelta a España.

In 2023, Hindley debuted at the Tour de France with positive results. On stage 5, he made his way into a breakaway on the first mountain stage and took the win on the day, with a yellow jersey to go along with it. While he lost the yellow jersey the next day, it was a positive first Tour de France for Hindley who finished seventh overall in Paris, even with a tough crash midway through the race.

Hindley's current contract with Bora-Hansgrohe runs through to the end of 2024.
